The project design uses Modernism and Contemporary Architecture, emphasizing simplicity, functionalism, and material honesty. The clean geometric forms and the absence of excessive ornamentation reflect a modernist ethos rooted in Form Follows Function.
The most distinctive element of the building is its canopied walkway, featuring a wide, timber-framed entrance that creates a warm and inviting arrival experience. This entryway also serves as a transitional zone—bridging public and private spaces—with a built-in office subtly positioned nearby, providing clear visibility to the main door along with a compact desk nook and secure storage.
Each unit was thoughtfully designed to meet the specific needs of its residents. A circular layout was adopted to eliminate dead ends, allowing smooth, continuous movement—particularly beneficial for individuals with cognitive or mobility impairments. Circulation paths are completely barrier-free, with wide corridors, slip-resistant flooring, and contrasting textures, colours, and tactile materials such as wood, stone, and soft finishes that provide both comfort and intuitive navigation.
All units are arranged on a single level, connected by gentle ramps. Thresholds are flush, doors are automated for easy access, and sensor-controlled, glare-free lighting enhances safety and usability. Each unit includes a sleeping area, an ensuite bathroom, and a cosy sitting space that opens to a garden, while the open kitchen design allows residents to watch and engage during meal preparation.
