The design emphasizes the fusion of functional simplicity with expressive form. It advocates for clarity of purpose—balancing functional requirements with aesthetic expression—and encourages the thoughtful use of materials, light, and form to craft resilient, engaging, and sustainable living environments.
The building’s design takes inspiration from its unique, pencil-shaped pentagonal footprint—elongated, angular, and narrowing at one end. The irregular site posed distinct challenges, bordered by eight neighbouring properties and intersected by three separate easements.
The structure accommodates two specialized units featuring non-slip flooring, acoustic insulation, and indirect lighting, complemented by high-set windows that allow generous natural light. Ensuring comfort and maintaining the highest standards of safety were key priorities throughout the design process.
